Next generation telematics specialist, Risk Technology, has signed a regional partnership with Quantum Inventions, headquartered in Singapore. Quantum Inventions (QI) develops and deploys dynamic navigation, routing and traffic information services for consumers, enterprises and government systems.
The company delivers its connected services integrating real-time traffic, map, navigation & other context sensitive applications via devices plugged in to car dashboards. Its solutions are used by everyone from individual drivers to large fleets. Together, Risk and QI are developing a solution that enables users to see driver behaviour information through the same device.
Driver behaviour data is collected by monitoring core parameters such as acceleration, deceleration, speed, location and time of day. This information can be used by QI to develop its proposition for a Usage Based Insurance (UBI) offering or for a gamified application which encourages drivers to improve their driver score.
“Driver behaviour information will perfectly complement our existing GPS navigation and traffic information platforms”, said Saurav Bhattacharyya, CEO, Quantum Inventions. “It also gives us a solid foundation to move into the UBI market as it develops in Singapore. Risk’s technology is tried and tested and we see this partnership as a crucial element in our South East Asian expansion plans.”
“We have a highly credible partner in Quantum Inventions”, said Mark Packman, CEO at Risk Technology. “The company has a strong reputation in the region and has developed technologies across dynamic navigation and routing, real-time data processing and traffic intelligence. Incorporating driver behaviour and potentially crash detection in the future gives QI access to new data flows that can benefit consumers and enterprises alike.”
